Talisker 30YO 2021 Release Available For Investment
332% return in five years on previous release (30YO 2017). Invest in Talisker's latest 30-year release
The golden, fine drops from Scotland's many illustrious distilleries are becoming increasingly popular. The distilleries have had, and continue to have, an ability and willingness to innovate, stay up to date and attract new followers to the category.
The only major challenge is that time has its limits, which results in a very limited amount of aged whisky - and new production cannot be accelerated. Together, these two elements create a lucrative environment for investors.
Take part in a rare release of just 3,216 bottles of Talisker 30 YO from 2021 - a long-awaited follow-up to the recent 30 YO release from 2017, which has seen price increases of more than 300% in five years.
Talisker 30 YO 2021 – Made By The Sea
A successor to the 2017 edition, Talisker 30 YO 2021 is a rare Talisker expression that treats the lucky few who get to taste what three decades of aging in American ex-bourbon casks can do. This is the epitome of the soul of Talisker and the Isle of Skye, where the refined drops have their origins.
Today, Talisker is owned by Diageo, one of the world's largest spirits producers. Diageo has certainly understood that the whisky category also needs to stay up to date - something they have succeeded in doing with relevant marketing to spread awareness and contemporary design and packaging.
Whisky: An Extremely Attractive Category
The whisky category is by far the asset in the "collectibles" category that has delivered the highest returns over the past 10 years. According to the latest edition of Knight Frank's The Wealth Report, whisky has returned a whopping 428% over the past 10 years. By comparison, stocks (MSCI World) have returned 234% over the same period.
The figures are based on Rare Whisky 101's Apex 1000 index, which tracks the prices of the 1,000 best-performing whiskies - a category in which Talisker's good bottles are represented too.
The 2017 release of Talisker's 30YO release has seen a price increase of 332%* since it came to market (mid-2017), according to wine-searcher.com - an impressive return that beats even the whisky market.

Invest In Whisky - Invest In "The Sweet Spot"
When it comes to investing in whisky, just like investing in wine, there are some fundamental characteristics that we believe should be present. These include the right vintage (age), limited production/release, and to some extent that the whisky is cask strength (not watered down = more concentrated product).
When looking for the most obvious investment, there are several different characteristics that are interesting, depending on who the future buyer is. The more of these characteristics a whisky contains, the closer it is to the "sweet spot", which creates optimal conditions for a good investment. See the model here:
Talisker 30 YO 2021 appeals to all three segments and is thus in the "sweet spot", making investment particularly attractive. Indeed, this is a whisky of towering quality in a limited release (3,216 numbered bottles) in cask strength (more concentrated product) from an iconic distillery with such a long history that the general supply in the market is inherently limited - a supply that at the same time cannot be increased overnight.
