Every time RareWine Invest offers the world's best champagnes for investment, there is a race for the magical bubbles. Now we are going to talk a bit about Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Rosé, and we expect it to be a very good acquaintance - and there are some very special reasons for that.  

Champagne Taittinger can proudly boast of being among the oldest estates in Champagne, and their years of experience in the Champagne industry are reflected in their prestige cuvée - Comtes de Champagne. A champagne that can rightly so be compared to both Dom Pérignon and Cristal in quality.

2008: What Is The Hype About?

Legendary. Monumental. Out of this world.     

2008 is a praised vintage in the Champagne world because all Champagne producers experienced ideal conditions in their vineyards. If there is a weather god, it cast a spell over Champagne in this particular vintage. And that is why there are always great expectations for the vintage Champagnes that emerge from 2008.   

This Is How It Turned Out For The 2007 Vintage

Back in August 2021 we had the 2007 Comtes Rosé for investment at a price of € 120. Today the price is € 135. Those who invested have therefore already achieved a return of + 12.5 %. And from the perspective that wine investment should be seen as a long-term investment, this is extremely impressive in just three months.    

As mentioned, there is a growing demand for rosé Champagne, and it is very reasonable to assume that this is also where we should find the explanation for why 2007 Comtes Rosé has risen so much in such a short time. But when it comes to Taittinger, the scale of production matters a great deal.   

Limited Supply Of Comtes Rosé

Taittinger annually produces about five million bottles of Champagne. Of the five million, only 150,000-300,000 are thought to be the prestige cuvée Comtes de Champagne. The rosé Champagne is even more limited, which means that there is a low supply of the coveted pink prestige bubbles.   

And the world's Champagne-drinking consumers are reducing the scarce drops in record time.

We are still waiting for a score from Vinous. But we are not waiting for anything that might indicate an investment potential. Indeed, it is clear.   

The rosé Champagne as a category is on intense charm offensive, and it is working. The growth rates certainly show that, whether you look at prices or volumes traded. In addition, we are dealing with a strong Champagne house that represents a strong brand and produces Champagne and rosé Champagne that is absolutely world-class. 2008 is certainly no exception.   

Add to this the fact that there is a favorable relationship between quality and price. Especially when we compare Comtes Rosé with both Cristal Rosé and Dom Pérignon Rosé. To top it all off, we have a rapidly increasing consumption of rosé Champagne and a very scarce supply. It will not be long before the thirst for the pink drops has significantly reduced the supply of 2008 Comtes de Champagne Rosé - and then it really starts to be interesting to own this wine.   

But something you almost forget in the enchantment of Comtes de Champagne Rosé is that we are dealing with a 2008, something that is basically extremely interesting when we talk about Champagne investment - something the previous cases also testify to.
