Romanée-Conti From DRC: Extremely Rare Opportunity To Invest In Whole Cases!

The world's finest restaurants are fighting each other for just a chance to be allowed to buy a single bottle of Romanée-Conti. You can now invest in Conti in whole cases!

Romanée-Conti – The King Of Kings

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti and in particular the top wine of the domain of the same name, Romanée-Conti, is probably the most hallowed name among the mastodons of Burgundy. And in fact, probably also throughout the vinous world, where just the abbreviation of the producer's name, DRC, attracts attention, respect and a bit of awe. The reason for this is quite simple: DRC has, perhaps only in real competition with Domaine Leroy, manifested itself as a permanent resident of the world's ultra-elite of wine producers. The product portfolio is a plentitude of wine from some of the world's best and most famous Grand Cru vineyards including La Tâche, Richebourg, Romanée-Saint-Vivant, Montrachet and others. But the crown jewel is and will be the wine from Romanée-Conti - the wine that for more than two decades was the world's most expensive wine and only in 2018 was challenged by Domaine Leroy's Musigny, who has since been the rival for the precious title.

Romanée-Conti is a king among kings, belongs to the best of the best and is some of the most expensive wine in ordinary production, which can be obtained at all - if it CAN be obtained!

Expensive, Rare, Coveted And Extremely Difficult To Obtain

This is how Romanée-Conti from the DRC can actually be described. And despite the precision of this headline, it still requires that things be put into perspective to understand the true format of this wine.

That Romanée-Conti is as expensive as it is, is related to both sublime quality and simple supply and demand theory. On average around 5,000 bottles of Romanée-Conti are produced each year, and since the vineyard cannot be expanded and directives prescribe a maximum harvest yield, the supply cannot be increased.

Such a limited production naturally makes Romanée-Conti extremely rare already at the time of release, and when something is notoriously known to be good, and at the same time comes with large amounts of prestige - well, then it is usually also coveted.

But in order not to be enough, Romanée-Conti is also sold on an allocation basis, which means that often old distribution agreements prescribe which distributors are allocated sparse quantities, so that the individual countries' absolute top restaurants can be graciously allowed to buy individual bottles, if they are lucky.

As a result of RareWine's international trading network, you now have the opportunity to overtake and invest in whole cases of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti's Romanée-Conti, which are now sold exclusively for investment - a rare and unique opportunity.

This means that right now a unique crown jewel can be added to your investment portfolio at a very attractive price.

Can The Price Of Such Expensive Wines Rise?

The very short answer is yes. Just as it may seem outrageous that a single bottle of wine can cost thousands of Euros, there are a wealth of rich and super-rich people around the world for whom this type of wine is far from just an expensive investment, but rather a matter of course for festive occasions. In fact, we have seen several examples that the most expensive and most exclusive have only become even more expensive and exclusive and that prices apparently have no max.

We saw a great example of this in 2018 when a bottle of 2015 Musigny from Domaine Leroy was purchased by an investor at € 18,500. Just nine months later the investor sold the same bottle for as much as € 35,000 - this gave the investor a return of € 16,500 equivalent to 89.2% in just nine months.

Likewise, 2018 was a good year for the DRC, which with an average price increase across all wines increased by approx. 25%, while Romanée-Conti in isolation increased by as much as 18%.

Therefore: There is no indication that the price of this type of wine will not increase in the future.

Rarewine Invest’s Opinion

Historically, we have often seen that it is on the largest, most expensive and most coveted bottles that the price moves the most. The wines from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, and in particular the extraordinary Romanée-Conti, belong to this category.

With a few exceptions that might come up on the sidelines of Romanée-Conti in terms of price, prestige and demand, this is the top of the top and it simply does not get bigger.

Therefore, this is a unique opportunity to add a whole box of some of the world's most exclusive wine to your portfolio - something that is almost unheard of across the wine world, and something the most prestigious restaurants really need to work hard for to be offered.

Only four cases are available for investment and are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. We do not know when or if we will again have the opportunity to offer whole cases of Romanée-Conti for investment.
